Mechanics & Inner Workings

Thobsurn is a large, heavy kite shield forged by Drow in an attempt to finally topple Corellon. The face of Thobsurn is a dark plate of voidform. With this much voidform forged into one piece, the eye is drawn to its mercurial nature. The solid metal face seems to be roiling, as if something unknowable and horrifying is trying to break through its surface. Spring from its surface are three cruel spikes. When the command word is given, Thobsurn can draw a creature of size huge or smaller into its spikes, dealing 4d12 pierce damage and bludgeoning damage equal to the amount of damage a creature would take from falling the same distance it's being dragged, halved.

Manufacturing process

Everyone involved in the process of crafting Thobsurn was killed in the process; manufacturing techniques can only be speculated upon. Most believe it was a gift from a great Old One given the number of warlocks involved in the process.
