Summary

The people who live near the vast lakes on Sorlandor have an uneasy joke about the fish with hair. Inexplicably, random bits of some animal (assumedly) will land on the shore: a tooth, toe, maybe even an eye. Most notably is patches of coarse ruby red hair. No one knows where the hair comes from since no local animals have such unusual coloring. Without an explanation, fisherman joke about the fish with hair. They don't joke about why no one fishes towards the center of the lake.

It's spread as far as any local myth has. Mostly fishing villages will openly talk about it; any town larger than that probably wouldn't deem the minimal evidence worthy of mentioning especially since it comes from such lowly and uneducated people as fishmongers. But the whispers never truly seem to leave the corners of taverns or between the washer women hanging clothes to dry.
