The Hunt for Adzerak

Melkerech, enraged by Adzerak’s betrayal and the theft of the rite of lichdom, scours Faerûn for his former apprentice. During this time, Melkerech begins constructing his flying citadel, intending to use it as a base of operations to hunt down and destroy Adzerak, using Adzerak's own family keep, Barrenstone Castle in retribution, keeping his descendant family on as servants. However, Adzerak's mastery of necromancy and his use of planar magic allow him to evade capture. This failure deepens Melkerech's bitterness, as his inability to retrieve the stolen artifacts and texts further derails his attempts to rewrite the past.
