Queen of Cormyr Raedra Gantharla Obarskyr (a.k.a. Ray)

Queen Raedra Obarskyr, who assumed the throne after serving as regent for her injured brother, Baerovus, following the deaths of their father and grandfather during the war with Sembia and Shade. Raedra was crowned in 1486 DR after Baerovus abdicated.

A war hero, Raedra earned her renown by slaying the Purple Dragon Reborn—an enormous shadowborn wyvern magically altered by the Shadovar to appear as the legendary dragon Thauglor—and by breaking the siege of Suzail.

Raedra is currently unmarried. Her first husband, Lindon Huntcrown, was executed after being exposed as a spy for Shar. Although she nearly wed a scion of House Crownsilver, she called off the engagement shortly after ascending the throne.

Her status as an unmarried queen without heirs has made her position politically precarious. Despite this, Raedra commands respect as a ruler, though her reputation as cold and calculating has been a source of contention among some nobles.
