Fey Tale of Thorns

Long ago, in the ages when the boundaries between the mortal and faerie realms were barely there, the Unseelie Queen of Thorns ruled her shadowy domain with a heart as prickly as her name. Within her twisted court, she bore twin daughters, Titania and Mab. From their first breath, the queen pitted them against each other, hoping to forge a successor in the fires of rivalry. While Mab thrived in this cutthroat environment, Titania, with a soul as clear as spring water, suffered under her mother's cruel games.

Titania’s kindness was a light in the dark court, but it drew the ire of the Queen of Thorns, who could not understand such purity. Far away, in the radiant halls of the Seelie Court, King Oberon ruled with a gentle hand, his heart yearning for a kindred spirit. Fate wove its threads when Oberon, wandering the woods, stumbled upon Titania weeping by a crystalline pool. Struck by her beauty and moved by her tears, he fell deeply in love. Without a second thought, he whisked her away to his gleaming realm, sparking a war that threatened to tear the faewild apart.

The Queen of Thorns, empowered by seven dark harbingers, seemed unstoppable as she advanced in the war, her wrath unquenchable. Desperate, Titania and Oberon sought a new path. They turned to Mab, proposing a daring plan under the guise of a truce. In the dense, twilight woods of the material plane, a dramatic showdown unfolded. As they pretended to surrender, Mab revealed her true allegiance, joining forces with Titania and Oberon. Together, they turned against the Queen of Thorns.

In a monumental battle, they managed to trap the queen deep underground, sealing her within a cavern, the entrance of which would only open if the surrounding mountains crumbled.

With the Queen of Thorns gone, Mab ascended to rule the Unseelie Court as the Queen of Air and Darkness, while peace finally reigned between her and the Seelie Court under Oberon and Titania.

Yet, whispers remain among the ancient trees and rustling leaves—a warning that if ever the mountains fall and the harbingers are freed, they will seek to resurrect their terrible queen and her reign of shadows. Thus, the guardians of the realms watch and wait, for they know that in the world of faerie, nothing is ever truly gone forever.
