Tesh-Xi (a.k.a. Ben)
"Now I have your words. Together we can spin them into the weft of knowledge. Or, I can turn them and unmake you. Choose."Ben is an enormous private eye working with John Carmichael. He stands over 7, perhaps even 8 feet tall, wears heavy clothes and a huge hat. Ben has an incredibly deep and ponderous voice, but seems to carry a sharp intellect. He is polite, if forward at times, and likes asking questions much more than answering them.
Physical Description
Body Features
In human form: Just an enormous dude, absolutely unit of a lad, 7.5 feet tall, sausage fingers, built.
In Immoth form, he is a seven-eight feet tall hulking figure made entirely of ice, shaped mostly like a human but with a scorpion's tail.
Facial Features
In human disguise, Ben just looks absolutely enormous, with chiseled yet soft features.
In his true, elemental form, Tesh-Xi is made entirely of ice. Unlike most immoths, he periodically shaves the icicles that form as a beard on his chin. He finds the process pleasing and methodical, and sees no reason to justify it further.
Special abilities
- Eat Your Words: Tesh-Xi can freeze words from the air with his chilling breath, then eat them to gain understanding of them. This allows him to absorb languages one word at a time.
- Ice Runes: If Tesh-Xi freezes a spell as it's cast, he can capture the spell as an ice rune. Later, he can use that rune to cast the trapped spell.
- Icewalk: Tesh-Xi can move effortlessly through ice and snow.
Apparel & Accessories
In human form, Ben wears an enormous trenchcoat and fedora. He keeps the trenchcoat buttoned as he does not wear a shirt.
In immoth form, Tesh-Xi doesn't wear clothing.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
The Immoths of the Mountain of Ultimate Winter came to Zelzosh long ago. They learned of the sorcerer Rahas, who brought the Killing Cold upon the world, and curiosity did the rest. Since then, some returned to their home plane, some remained, and some heard the whispers of the Glacial Heart, wandering off to leave printless paths to the source of the corruption.
Tesh-Xi watched three immoths heed the call. He observed them as the whispers took hold in their hearts, studied their growing obsession with an image they could almost make up in the snow. He learned much from their descent and eventual departure--enough to invoke the faintest outlines of the Nameless Shape in his own thoughts. But Tesh-Xi's curiosity does not extend to the true form of the Nameless Shape, only to its power over minds. Perhaps he can learn from its techniques, for it must be a mighty power indeed to bend even the icy will of his people.
