Law of Lead

Lead can be used to block certain types of magic. Specifically lead sheeting will block spells that allow for magical transportation like teleport and blink It is also impossible to scan items that have been placed in areas completely screened with lead like a lead lines box or a room with all it surface covered by lead sheeting. Other very dense metals like gold can cause the same effect, but the high price is usually an effective deterrent to such uses of the metal.

Manifestation

Anyone trying to use magic to enter a lead sealed area will bounce back to where ever they cast the spell that was meant to give them access to the area. Any attempt to scan a lead screened area will simply give an image of fuzzy blankness to the scanner. The scanner will be generally aware a lead barrier is the cause of this problem.
