Cor'Aleth
1492
Cor'Aleth is the name of this continent. The name stems from "Correlon Leitha," meaning "Correlon Sets Free," and has changed throughout the ages contracted to Cor'Aleth.
Cor'Aleth is a vast and diverse continent in the midst of a feudalistic dark age where magic is banned and mages are persecuted publicly. This demonizing of mages keeps a fragile and fleeting peace between four major nations and a handful of city states who are perpetually on the brink of war.
The nations' mercenaries and emissaries work in the shadows to undermine their rivals' governments. They seek to gain any advantage they can find knowing that any moment, something could break the cease fire created by the "Peregrine Order." Meanwhile, secretive alliances of magic users form clandestine deals with the shadowy underworld.
Will one wrong step from royal spies lead to total war? Will the mages connected throughout the underworld seek to usurp the kings that oppress them? Or will something else entirely shake this world and unite warring factions against a common enemy?
