Shadow of the Colossus

The party emerged from the oppressive heat of the desert, relieved as the barren sand dunes gave way to patches of hardy grass and scattered shrubs. In the distance, the party spotted something that made them halt in their tracks; a colossus, towering 100 meters tall, looming over the horizon. The sheer scale of the figure was enough to instill a mixture of awe and dread in the adventurers as they watched it move slowly across the landscape.   As the battle commenced, Crawly and Merryn descended into the colossus, the rope guiding them down nearly 90 feet to the chamber below. They found themselves in a massive circular chamber, the air thick with an otherworldly energy. At the center of the room, a giant, glowing green rock cast an eerie light, illuminating the space in a sickly hue. Leaning casually against the far wall was a humanoid figure. He smoked a cigarillo, his posture relaxed, yet his eyes were sharp and calculating as he watched the adventurers descend.   The battle both in- and outside ofthe colossus was fierce and unrelenting. The adventurers fought valiantly, using every trick, every spell, and every ounce of their strength to counter the creature’s overwhelming size and strength. Bit by bit, the stone giant’s defenses weakened, and with a final, earth-shattering blow, the colossus crumbled. Yet even in their triumph, the party knew that this was but one challenge in a series of trials still to come.
