Running deep into the City
After leaving the ruins of the fallen Colossus behind, the party journeyed towards Deep Run. As the party approached, the lively hum of city life filled the air, the murmur of distant conversations, the rhythmic clatter of hooves on cobblestones, and the occasional shout of a street vendor peddling their wares. It was a welcome change from the tense atmosphere of battle and travel.
Just as the party moved through the city gates, four creatures rounded a nearby corner, their appearance immediately unsettling. Smaller than humans, with rodent-like features, they bore sharp teeth, clawed fingers, and long, twitching tails. However, instead of turning their aggression toward the party, the creatures lunged at a group of human bandits nearby, who had been hiding in the shadows. The bandits barely had time to react before the creatures attacked, clawing and biting with snarling ferocity.
As the skirmish raged, the party found themselves in the middle of the chaos. More guards arrived, and after the creatures had been driven off the last remaining bandit subdued. With the situation under control, the party continued their way deeper into the city. They had made a lasting impression at the gates of Deep Run.
