After returning from the cemetery, the day began at the
Red Ore Inn with a hearty breakfast, followed by harassing a merchant for information about crossing the desert. Skipping visits to sister bliss at the church, Tony's workshop, or the mayor, the party headed straight to the stables, where they purchased six horses.
Some members went to the market, bought rations, and spotted a magical
Tentacle Rod, which was unfortunately too expensive to buy. The heroes left
Brightwood without saying goodbye to anyone and met
Harlan Greywater of the Merchants Guild at a broken bridge just outside of town. After safely crossing the water, they bought coffee beans from him and continued their journey.
At the edge of the desert, the heroes encountered a large
orange sandworm. A group of orc boar riders assisted them in defeating the creature. Alongside the orcs, the prty dissected the sandworm and traded five cups of
coffee for five
vials of poison. They also received a talisman from the orcs symbolizing their alliance.
