Back in Brightwood
Upon their return to Brightwood, the quaint town appeared noticeably improved. However, Valygar and the other townsfolk seemed to have undergone a peculiar amnesia regarding the party, Xanthea, and the missing children.
En route to Sister Bliss's church, the party stumbled upon a band of goblins dubbing themselves theĀ Brightwood Orphans. Engaging in a spirited yet lopsided match of Blood Bowl, the heroes emerged victorious, exchanging gifts before retrieving a pilfered ball and resuming their journey.
Upon conferring with Sister Bliss, they recounted recent events, only to find she possessed no recollection of the PCs save for their arrival. Similarly, the goblin children exhibited no recognition. Sister Bliss then divulged insights into the enigmatic Dark Trinity, promising further investigation and dispatching an owl to Lady Sai of the church of the sleeper in Deep Run, a journey spanning four days. Discussions unveiled the Dark Trinity's detachment from the Sleeper, identifying the triforce symbol as their emblem.
Their next destination was the cemetery, void of a supposed gravedigger or his home along the way. Graves bearing an hourglass symbol delineated a path to a crypt where a skirmish with two spectres ensued. One nearly claimed Tayyib's life before succumbing to Olzaran's onslaught.
Toppling a coffin lid, Midos reanimated a skeletal occupant. Beneath lay stairs descending into darkness, beckoning the party onward.
