Helios Bug

There is an island a hundred miles west of Naabat. Untouched by any on Colossus. However the Helios Bug is not of this world.
Born of the arcane spark that occurs when folks jump between realms. The Helios Bug manifests into life from that spark.
Tiny in size, insects that take substance from the presence of other realms. Absorbing the particles that exist where the the cross over of realms exists.
The island is a myth to those in the world. Said to be place that one can travel beyond the realms and to the stars beyond. A story told to those that dream.
A single Helios Bug can absorb enough to brighten the way to anywhere. They are incredible fragile and volatile creatures.
There are never more than a few hundred on the island, if the numbers rise they shed their ornate shells of silver and die.
When a Helios Bug dies, somewhere in the world a spirit spark is created, waiting to be given life. This can be anywhere on any realm.
Those that remain of the few hundred, build a honeycomb like structure that they call home. Each cell contains the knowledge of a realm, a plain.
If one was lucky enough to get hold of one of these hives that person would have the power to travel freely wherever they so wished.
Helios Bugs are repetitive in their daily lives, fluttering to collect Realm Particles, akin to Bees in persona but with a look of a small Mantis. 
Colourations vary from Chrome Silver to a slate grey depending on the potency of the Helios Bug birthed. 
The world does not know they even exist, the island is part of myths and legends for those curious about other realms. But the Helios Bug goes about its existence carefree of the others it shares Colossus with.
