Orlov
Nestled on the coast of the Lake of Mists and Veils, Orlov was one of the first settlements established in Iobaria and became its first city in 753. Founded in the ruins of ancient Cyclopean ruins, Orlov grew quickly and in about a decade became a larger settlement than Okormirr and the first actual city in the nation of Njalguard.
It was the capital of Old Iobaria for nearly three millennia and grew as such. Iobaria being rife with conflicts and plagues, however, Orlov's moment under the sun came to pass and today, it's but a shadow of its former self.
About half of the city is currently occupied, more houses and even quarters being blocked off over time for they are too decrepit or ruined to be inhabited or costly to repair. While Prince Tzakiv Korya hopes that one day Iobaria will once again be united under the colours of Orlov, the city's general state makes trust in him waver.
The people or Orlov can be distrustful, seeing opponents wherever they look: after all, they are caught between the druids of Storith Wood and Okormirr, rivalries that the prince has no intentions of quashing.

Government
The city is ruled by the de facto Prince of Orlov. His claim on the area are as legitimate as they can be and people do their best to accommodate him. He rules firmly, but his ambitions are good for the city: without strength in Orlov, there can be no strength in Iobaria. That's not to say that life in the city is easy, with the main industry being cut off because of the lack of supplies, times have been trying, but a consortium or rich traders and merchants make it their business to keep the flow of cash steady in the region.
Defences
Orlov is a walled-off city with a citadel keep. Because attacks are quite unlikely and the area realtively safe, most towers are not guarded. Actually, only the port and the road east are more closely guarded.
Industry & Trade
The main industry in Orlov was once ship building, but due to millennia of using Storith Wood, this precious material is no longer readily available. They sometimes get tall orders for ship building, but the material has to be transported into town, either through caravans or ship, a complex operation. As such, Orlov is mostly a trade city these days, a port where goods can be exported or imported, as well as shipped throughout all of Iobaria.
History
History was first founded in 753 AR by settlers from Okormirr and was established as the first city of the Njalguard nation. In 905 AR, as Iobaria was united by warlords, Orlov became the capital of the newly-founded country. It remained as capital until the fall of Old Iobaria in 3150, when it was conquered. While it was reclaimed later by warlords, the capital was moved to Antoll during the period known as New Iobaria.
Since 4659 AR, the shipworks of Franax were moved to Orlov, unfortunately, this was not enough to make the city fully shine again, and it remains, to this day, only a fraction of what it once was.
