Drakhen

Dragons and humans have been close allies for many centuries in the far-reaches of Iobaria. Of this unlikely alliance grew an entirely new race that can, to this day, survive on its own. Often considered by other dragons as "weak" or "cursed" for being caught in the shackles of a humanoid form, the Drakhen have always nonetheless seen themselves as full dragons.   For the humans of Iobaria, they are seen as a sign that the dragons have not forever abandoned them and will, in fact, one day return. They are generally treated with the utmost respect by those who withhold tradition, unfortunately, this means less people with every year that passes by.   Unlike other dragons, their lifespan is very limited and their form does not grow in power. This means that Drakhen hunger for change and new experience at an alarming rate, making them, at best, unpredictable.   Drakhen appear to be globally humans, with various blotches of scales and horns across their very human body. Their skin and scale tone can vary from all the colors of the rainbow to even stranger colors (such as rainbow colored or crystalline). Horns jut from their forehead, their eyes remind those of a beast, and while they sometimes have claws, tails or wings, those are usually vestigial and cal be of no use to them.   For humans, they are usually lithe and small, petite, even. They stand out by their appearance and presence, but not by their height or weight. Males tend to be smaller and lighter than their female counterparts, which is something that Jotun and humans both enjoy poking fun at. Their thirst for new experience makes them prone to adventuring and allying themselves with the younger races (plus they get loot out of it!) Because of the strange blood that flows in their veins, Drakhen often makes amazing sorcerers.
