Point defense cannon

A close quarters defense system used by both Union and Commonwealth warships to defend against both missiles and fighters in addition to shields that protect the ship from railguns and particle beams.

Each turret consists of independent radar and a rapid-fire, multi-barreled rotary or revolver cannon (or multiple) that tracks destroys incoming missiles or fighters.
