Maida Rashalin the Delver

Maida Rashalin, information broker extraordinaire, has plied her trade in the Kellerian Empire's port city of Insantia for over a decade under the alias, "The Delver." Born Maida Tallow, the young human raven-haired human beauty, found herself on the streets fending for herself after her parents died in a plague that swept the city when she was 14. She found that with her beauty she was able to manipulate men and women into getting what she needed to survive. Unwilling to sell her body, she instead used her wits and guile to obtain and sell information. With a combination of disguises and her charisma Maida could walk into the tax office, charm the local tax collector and walk out with the financial information of a powerful shipping conglomerate without the tax man even knowing.  She freelanced at first, taking information and then deciding whom she should sell it to, but eventually the underworld of Insantia took notice and started hiring her to acquire specific information. She started making contacts within important areas of the city. She has contacts in the tax offices, the port authority, the government buildings and the guard officer's barracks. With these contacts there was less of a need for her to take so many physical risks and most information requested of her was as simple as speaking to one of her contacts and exchanging a little coin. She conducted her business anonymously in disguise and under the alias "The Delver".  For 5 years she maintained her network and lived well. Those that knew her as Maida Tallow assumed that she was living off an inheritance from her dead parents, but what they didn't know was that her family was nearly broke when they had died. At the age of 20 she met a successful spice merchant name Mackul Rashalin. To her surprise her was a very kind and generous man and was a regular donator to the local orphanage.  He used to be an orphan himself and found a way to reach financial security despite the disadvantages he had growing up. Maida admired his story and his kind heart and fell in love with him. Within a few months they were married, and she became Maida Rashalin.  Mackul's job keeps him out of the house most days and he often have to leave town on business, so Maida continues to run her information broker business from her home.  Due to Mackul's wealth she no longer needs to spend her own money to survive, so she invests her money back into her business to make it grow and to occasionally get her husband a nice present that she tells him cost much less than it really did. As the wife of a wealthy merchant, she often goes to grand social events and rubs shoulders with politicians and underworld figures that have no idea that they had worked with her before on many occasions. Many a savvy political or criminal figure has tried to persuade Maida to leave her husband for them or at least and extra-marital tryst, but she loves Mackul and has politely declined all advances.
