Hollow Whale Vehicle in Colarn | World Anvil

Hollow Whale

A Hollow Whale is a dead whale that is used to transport supplies and people that the League of Progress wishes to send to Askaria and islands within the same geographical area. The League wishes to avoid attracting the notice of the Askarians and the Nautican Kingdom and use the Hollow Whales to pass through their territory. A Hollow Whale is a freshly dead whale carcass that is brain dead but has an intact body. After the creature has died League scientists quickly remove what is left of the brain and replace it and certain vital organs with machinery. The machinery pumps blood and circulates vital organ fluid organs through the body artificially. Through the mechanical brain, they can then make the whale husk move in the water like a living whale. With these vehicles, League scientists can move large amounts of whatever needs to be moved safely and anonymously. Both the Askarian Navy and the Nautican Kingdom forces would ignore these vehicles because they look and move like living creatures. Capturing these whales requires dosing them with a potent nerve agent that paralyzes them Once they are paralyzed, additional toxins are administered to put the creatures to sleep and then to put the organs into a form of stasis. Once this is accomplished League personnel enter the creature's mouth begin the process of brain removal and artificial organ transplantation. In addition to the storage spaces carved into the innards of these vehicles, they are also equipped with torpedoes, that are only to be used in dire circumstances or if the crew suspects that the secret of these vessels is discovered. It is of utmost importance that operational security be maintained. Living creatures avoid the Hollow Whales when they are seen in the wild. League biologists believe that the creatures sense the unnaturalness of these transports and do not wish to go near them.

This actually blew my mind - it never occured to me to consider a means of moving large-scale shipments discreetly or in a way that an enemy won't discover or even consider checking. It really is genius!

I really appreciate that. I was worried that people may find it too morbid, but it seemed like a good idea.
