The Three Day War

The first discovery that humanity wasn't alone in the universe was initially met with widespread excitement bordering on hysteria. Thousands if not millions of different propositions were put forward by different political factions on how to proceed with these beings and what actions should be taken. Sadly, they were not given the chance to ponder long. Only 9 hours after the first Scourge ship was sighted, the alien bombs began to fall. They began by completely annihilating Proxima Centauri B as a show of force, extinguishing billions of souls in an instant. Many were ready to surrender immediately after this event, but The Scourge did not even leave the option until every last human warship and weapon was destroyed, taking a grand total of three days to accomplish the task. There was no peace treaty signed, no meeting of leaders to discuss terms, The Scourge simply landed on every human planet and colony and subjugated humanity by force. Immediately the vast majority of the population was loaded onto ships and whisked away to far corners of the galaxy for myriad deranged purposes, while the remainder were left under the close supervision of The Scourge and their proxies. Thus began the true dark age of humanity.
