Prologue: Return of Sailor V

Return of Sailor V
Minako and her partner, the white (and talking cat with a crescent moon on his forehead) Artemis, found themselves not in Juuban district. They were not even in their world’s Japan anymore. They somehow wound up in a new place that looked like a cross between Bladerunner’s aesthetic mixed with Seatle as there was a tinge of gray skies.   Blinking thrice, the blonde teenager could not believe it, she wound up issekaid into another world? This was something new for her, as the heroine of this tale was not ordinary. She was once known as the masked vigilante Sailor V, dealing with the dark agency which was a cover operation for the Dark Kingdom. She then met up with her fellow guardians to protect their princess (and friend) Sailor Moon.   They have survived many fights with their enemies the past few years and after the latest defeat against Dead Moon and Queen Nelhalania. After that, she was going to focus on passing her exams to enter Juuban high school! Though with this event, that will be put on hold.   “I was walking home after school and now I’m in this place?” Minako said aloud looking at tall and cramped buildings. The skies were grayish, buildings were tall and connected. It felt constricting to some and the layout was like LA’s version of Blade Runner. “I don’t think we’re in Japan anymore, Toto…” she cracked a joke.   Aretemis also looked around perplexed at the scenary. “Whatever this place is, it seems we’ve been teleportated to a new area.” He spoke. No one was paying attention or cared that a cat was talking. “Maybe another world entirely…”   Eyes widening, Minako scooped him up and beelined for a space where there wasn’t many folk walking around. She ducked into an alley (where there were no people as the author refuses to put this character in any kind of danger like that), locked eyes with him. “What do you mean ‘another world?” she asked perpsexed.   “I mean ‘another world’, moving one place to another,” Artemis explained patiently. “We seem to be in another place. Look closely, this isn’t Japan,”   The light-blue eyed teen did as she was told, and did see a bunch of people wandering around that were not Japanese. It felt more like London in her view but maybe America?   There were caucasian, black, all under the sun kind of people. And this place was not up to snuff. She turned back to Artemis. “Okay, you are right about that.”   The cat gave a nod. “If this is some enemy causing trouble, we’ll have to look into it.”   “What? Aretemis, nothing has happened after the whole Dead Moon circus came to town and wrecked the place. You recall seeing Usagi and Mamoru ascend to their queen and king getups to destroy the would-be queen of darkness.” She thought about her friend and the others before continuing. “Why would an enemy put us in another world?”   Artemis thought. “No clue, though that’s why we should be gathering intel.”   Minako dropped her head. Gathering intel was alright in her shoes but not that fun. ‘If Ami were here, she’d be using that computer of hers to gather whatever is here…’ she thought.   Deciding it was time to move, she and Artemis walked from the alley and made there way to find anything. The trek was alright as they continued to see people appear confused or working on moving objects into buildings, and sadly a some ruffians.   ‘This place is rather scary…’ Minako wandered as she moved a little faster. As she took two steps, she accidently bumped into a figure, who was standing still for whatever reason.   “Hey, don’t just stand looking lost!” Minako abruptly yelled. She was agitated with this place.   The person immediately apologized as he dropped his head. “I’m sorry, didn’t mean too, this place is…” he stopped abruptly as he got a good look at the person in front of him. He was smitten as he stopped.   She also got view of him and was surprised, she never met anyone that was a different background before, let alone black.   ‘Huh, he’s rather cute, in a geeky kind of way…’ Minako mused.   “uh, sorry for not moving when I should have.” He started again as he composed himself and adjusted his glasses. This was J and he was now in this city. “I hope you aren’t hurt?   Minako took a moment and shook her head. “No, just frustrated. I’m just-“   “You aren’t from around here too?” He said cutting her off.   Eyes widening, she blinked. “How’d you know that?”   He gave an embarrassed smile. “Well, you aren’t the only one,” he began as he motioned to the crowd wandering around. “I’ve been hearing that a majority are complaining not being in the place they should be. It’s caused some confusion.”   “Wait, so I’m not the only one? It’s everyone here?” Minako asked with some urgency.   “Yeah seems that way. I’m also not from here.” He said with a frown.   “You aren’t? Where are you from?” she asked.   J took a moment as he didn’t know how to go about answering. It’s not like he could tell her “I’m a wizard, Harry!” “Well, not in this absurd place.” He then asked her the same. “What about you?”   Minako also took a moment. “Well, I’m from Japan…”   “You are?” J exclaimed. “That’s cool, I’ve always wanted to visit Japan!!”   She gave a chuckle at his enthusiasm. “It’s not that great but bear with me; when I say I’m from Japan, I mean…not from Japan-Japan…”   “You mean, teleporated from the place you know but wound up here in a place that’s not from your world?”   “Exactly!” They both gave a smile being on the same page. “I know it’s hard to believe.”   The teen male gave chuckle. “I think I can believe given the circumstances.” He then had a thought. “That’s right, I haven’t introduced myself. My name is J.” He said.   “J?” Minako asked confused.   “Yeah, I know, but it’s what I like to go by.” J replied easily, showing confidence.   The blonde shrugged. “If that’s the case. My name is Minako Aino.” She said and offered out a hand. J shook her hand gently but firm. Then the duo heard a “meow” and looked down.   “Right, forgot about him.” Minako said as she scooped up the white cat. “This is Artemis.”   The green-eyed cat looked at J and jumped on the teen’s shoulders, to his surprise. Artemis nuzzled his face for a few moments. J scratched his head. “Aww, he’s a nice cat.”   Artemis then jumped back down on the ground and went back to lay at Minako’s feet.   “He’s taken a liking too you. Must mean you aren’t a bad guy.” Minako said as she bowed her head. “I’m sorry for snapping at you.”   J held out his hands. “No-no, I was standing in the way. I shouldn’t stop while looking at the buildings.”   “Are you okay?” She asked.   “I’m fine,” he began as his eyes wandered around. “It’s just I don’t like the feel of this place.”   “What do you mean?” She asked curiously.   He closed his eyes responding. “The vibe of this place is restrictive. The air is stagnant and seeing what I saw, not the best place to hang.”   Minako nodded. “Yeah, I’m seeing that too. Wonder why that is.”   The two didn’t say anything, thinking on the circumstances. Then an idea popped in his head. He turned around. Minako raised an eyebrow in what he was doing. J did a motion with his hand until smoke appeared and conjured something.   He turned around and gave Minako a red rose which she gasped at the gesture.   “I thought given how negative this place is, you add light to this place with your prescence.” He said holding the rose.   Minako took the rose and blushed. ‘My gosh, he’s a sweetheart!’ she screamed in her head. She gave a smile and looked at the male. “Thank you for this J.”   J gave a modest laugh and it looked like things were going well. Until…   “Sorry to break up this moment, J,” a voice said that dripped of sarcasm. “Though I’ve finished doing my portion of the work. I can come back later…”   J shook his head. “No, it’s fine Archer. I wasn’t-I WASN’T doing anything bad!!”   “Clearly.” The one named Archer said as he saw Minako and the rose in her hands. He gave J a look then introduced himself. “Sorry to interrupt miss, my name is Archer and this kid here and I are traveling companions. I hope he didn’t bother you?”   The teen felt like burying himself in the ground, he knew Archer was doing this on purpose!   Minako giggled. “No, we were just talking. He was a gentleman.”   J stopped freaking out and gave a smile at the compliment. Archer hid a smirk and turned away. “J, I finished what we set out to do. It’s time to leave Rollingsberg.”   “You aren’t staying?” Minako asked a little disappointed.   “Yeah, we arrived not so long ago and was just here for info. Also, I don’t like the feel of this place so we are going to continue and finding out what else is out there.” He appeared sad. “Unless you want to come with us?”   Minako thought about it for a moment but then had to decline. As smart as that would be, she needed to do her own gathering of her friends and find things out herself. It was a matter of pride being the leader of the Inner Senshi. “I’m going to stay here. I want to find information about my friends, that I believe might be here.”   Archer and J looked at each other and then at her. “You sure, Miss?” Archer said. “It’s not the easiest place here.”   Minako got firm. “I’m not all that helpless as I appear to be.” She looked around and got close. She was really going to break a rule but given the circumstances…she pulled out her transformation pen and the men looked at it perplexed.   “I know this will come as a shock but going by what J said, we were all transported to this place right? I’m no ordinary person; I’m a warrior of justice.”   The pen briefly gave an orange hue to J’s surprise and Archer’s curiosity; they could feel the energy radiating off it. “I can take care of myself.”   Archer gave a nod. “Is that so? Then no need for me to intrude.” He said before clapping J on the back. Hard. “Say bye to your girlfriend and meet me by the entrance.”   “She’s not my girlfriend!!!” J cried as Archer gave an arm wave and headed to the destination.   J awkwardly gave Minako a look of apology. “A warrior of justice? Like a superhero?”   “Something like that, though please don’t tell anyone.” She said offering a wink.   If J’s face could get redder, it would be a tomato, which seems to be impossible with his skin tone but stranger things have happened. “Of course, I won’t say a word.” He coughed trying to calm himself before regaining composure.   “If that’s the case, then I’ll tell you one thing about me; I’m a mage.”   “A mage?” Minako responded with confusion.   “Oh right, another way of saying like a wizard. Sorocerer. Elemental master.” He offered out and she got it.   “So you can do magic???”   “How do you think I got you a rose?” He said smiling.   Minako held up the rose and gave it a sniff; it was still pleasant. “I’ll be sure to take care of it.”   “I hope you are able to find you’re friends, Minako.”   “And I hope you find what you are looking for as well.”   The two shook hands and both tried to keep a blush of their face (J was not succeeding). J soon gave a smile. “I hope we see each other again?”   Minako saw him appear hopeful and gave a nod. “I hope so too. Good luck out there!”   J waved and did a motion that was (YES) like one of those 90s kids that did something awesome.

The mage in training met up with Archer.   “How’d it go?” Archer asked, arms crossed, eyes closed.   The teen stammered. “It was fine. Nothing I couldn’t handle.”   A smirk appeared as he looked at him. “Of course, you have a way with women.”   “Hey, I did all right!” J exclaimed.   The red-coated man soon got serious. “You sure you want to leave? You could just stay?”   J turned around and used his Aura sense and saw an orange light coming from the middle of the city, moving to the east.   “I’m sure Minako will be alright, she seems to know what she’s going to do. Besides,” he faced Archer.   “This place feels off, and not because of the crime rate.”   Archer also looked and with his vision, could tell that there was a bunch of crime in this place. Though since it was the afternoon, nothing drastic should happen.   ‘Though I did get info on an individual doing the vigilante spiel. Wonder how that will turn out?’ Archer thought. He wasn’t going to inform his young colluge of that. “Well, we move on to the next spot.”   “You know where we’re going to next?”   “I have a feeling we’ll find more people.” Archer said as he walked out of the city with J in tow. Their next destination would be the newly established Tokyo.

Minako and Artemis walked to a certain spot located in the outskirts of Rollingsberg. It was a building with the shape of a honeypot. Even the roof was in the shape of a lid! It looked decent and there were people coming in and out. The blonde felt awkward as she was still 15 years old.   “There’s no reason for me to be here, especially during the day.” She replied, about to turn away. Until Artemis heard a noise. “Minako make sure to stay back!”   Wondering what her feline friend meant, she soon saw why his reaction. A couple of men were thrown from the front door and landed in a heap. They looked pissed off at what was happening and throwing a tantrum.   “Hey what’s the big idea, man?” One yelled out.   “Yeah, we were doin notin!” Another cried.   The two others also yelled and flipped the bird at the establishment. After that a loud bang was heard and what appeared to be a bullet hole near the men’s feet. They scattered quickly as Mina, Artemis and other passersby came to see who did the shooting.   “Yikes, this is getting dangerous!” Minako whispered to Artemis as more gathered to see what was happening.   The first one got up and was about to storm the place again until another gunshot was heard which stopped him in his tracks.   “I think that’s enough of that!” a cloudy sounding voice said as the figure stepped out and some were gagged at not what it was, but who.   Wearing a black t-shirt over a round belly, yellow fur, an eye-patch over his left eye and a broken heart tattoo on the upper arm, this strange individual was none other than Winnie the Pooh!   Mina and Artemis face-fault at the sight of a beloved icon that brought wonder to a generation, though Pooh seemed to have gone through a phase of watching Donnie Darko or The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.   Pooh gripped a shotgun and pointed at the ruffians. “I’ll say again,” the bear raised an eyebrow which seemed impossile but he did anyway. “This place is the neutral zone and there will be no shady business in this establishment.”   “But you are like the crime lord of Rollingsberg and-!” one dude cried but was silent when a bullet grazed his cheek.   “I’m sorry, WHO is a crime lord?” He threatened. “I’m just bear that owns this bar and offers a helping hand to lost souls.”   Everyone who knew what the deal was quiet. Minako on the other hand was gagged in seeing an iconic character act out of sorts.   Pooh then turned away. “Now, go on and get. I won’t press charges but if I see you cause any trouble coming back here, I’ll get one of my boys to rough you up.”   In the entrance stood said “boys”. They looked like they were used to fighting and one wore a cap until they retreated back into the bar.   The ruffians ran off and Pooh gave a general stare at the ones watching like deers. “Show is over everyone; if you want some refreshments, come inside and bring you’re money and friends.” He then went back inside.   Things started quieting down as some did that or left. Minako was still stumped at what she saw but knew she couldn’t stay like that. She had no other leads so she might as well take advantage.

Minako was in Pooh’s office after she asked him a couple of questions to which he offered to answer them in the back. He could tell this blonde teen was more than she seemed, especially with a cat with a crescent on his forehead.   After some minutes of Minako telling him of her world, he revealed the general information; this was Rollingsberg, as Archer said earlier, and this world is an amalgation of other worlds. How he knew, the silly old bear wasn’t going to say but he did tell her that he was having problems with other beings other than ruffians coming here.   They were beings from other worlds, called Heartless, random impish demons, and Grimm. He couldn’t deal with that and his usual suspects. If Minako helped him, he would have some feelers out to help with locating her friends.   The future idol thought for a few moments wondering if she should but then agreed. Though she wouldn’t be using her Sailor Venus form. She didn’t want it known a sailor guardian was here that could tip off the enemy (in her mind) so she decided to go with how her vigilante days began; as Sailor V.   Usually the beings struck at night, where the Honeypot got heavy with patrons so she transformed (with no one seeing) and waited out nearby. When said beings struck, Sailor V fought them off with her skills.   Thanks to that, it was getting known that a masked vigilante was protecting the Hoenypot from the strange monsters and offered help to some customers in fending them off.   Sailor V was one of a few who dealt with the “darkness” of Rollingsberg. Though this would be for a short time before Pooh got a hit and informed her of her friends being seen in the newly named Tokyo.   Minako would be leaving Rollingsberg with Artemis and meet up with some of the inner guardians where they would do help out in the defense of the city.   They would also soon be enrolled in school and have many adventures with other characters from other worlds and where Minako would be bumping into the mage once again, where a bigger story starts.
