Session Fourteen
General Summary
At The Local (08 May 2022)
The group met up in The Local to discuss information they'd found and plans they'd made. Alice mentioned that she had done some investigating, where she discovered that the Witch has four objects that have some part of her power in it and you have to destroy them before you can kill her. Three of the objects are in the shop and one is not. She didn't know what they are specifically but they have some kind of magical essence as part of them and should be linked somehow. She wasn't subtle about investigating and had been attacked by a curtain. She also mentioned she had spoken to Freddie again, who is apparently a thing in a skull.Justin found out from his own investigations that there is at least two known proprietors of Toil and Trouble. One is the Witch and apparently the other one is the polar opposite of the Witch, very nice and lovely. They are never seen outside of the shop. The shop also has really good wards.
Discussing plans, the group decided that the first thing to try would be to confront the Witch and demand she gives Willow's power back. There was friction between Alice and Willow during the discussion.
Confronting the Witch (09 May 2022)
Willow, Justin and Leah go to Toil and Trouble to contfront the Witch. Upon entering the person at the counter was a beautiful woman with seemingly impossible proportions. She greeted the group politely and when Willow demanded her power back, she appeared like she was going to tryand help. However, Justin was able to see through her glamour due to his fae blood to reveal it was just the Witch in disguise. Upon Justin calling her out, she reverted back to her ugly appearance.After the Witch started openly mocking the group, they tried to provoke her to very little effect. Willow used her Wyrd to detect the magic in the shop. She identified her magic was in the back room and also there were several objects that connected to the witch. Some of these were probably the ones that Alice found out about before. Willow started putting these in her bag but the Witch warned if she left with them in her bag then the wards would incinerate her.
After that Willow used her magic to reach out and suck her magic back to her. She was successful and managed to get her magic back. After which she put back the items she had grabbed then the group left the shop.
Trading in the Jewellery
Afterwards Willow decided to trade the cursed jewellery at Gronk's Shiney Things. Looking around she found a fishbowl with glass eyes, a stage dagger with fake blood, small blue/black purplish orb that makes your brain ring when you look at it, and elaborate broach in a vortex motif. She traded the cursed jewellery for the broach. Gronk was happy to take it and even said that Willow had credit, however when finding out about the ability of the bracelet he told Willow to not tell Alice he'd taken them due to him saying he'd have nothing to do with death.Alice & Freddie
Justin went to check up on Alice and when they were talking, Alice ended up revealing that when she had been sneaking around Toil and Trouble, she had ended up making a deal with Freddie. Now Freddie is in Alice's mind and can control Alice's body when she is not using it. In return he allows Alice to do some magic. The only way Alice can get rid of Freddie is to find him a body, either somebody who is willing or a sacrifice. Justin made Freddie promise to him that while he was in Alice's body, he would not harm Alice, hurt anybody else without Alice's permission and would not sacrifice anyone (regardless of Alice's permission).The night of the full moon (18 March 2022)
A week prior to the full moon, Justin obtained some Wolfsbane. Leah discovered that this meant that she could not come anywhere near the appartment as it had a far wider reach than expected.On the night of the full moon, Leah chained herself up, wolfbane was placed at the entrances to the area and Justin and Willow camped out to see how it went. The restraints held Leah for the majority of the night, though the sound of her struggling against the metal made it very loud. About half an hour before moon set, Leah escaped her restraints. She jumped over a fence where there was no wolfsbane to escape the area (though she ended up taking half the fence with her). When Justin and Willow realised she'd escaped, they called Alice to find Leah. Alice found Leah just in time to see her transform back to human but unlike her usual transformations, this one was slow, convulsing and looked painful. This left Leah naked and unconcious.
Alice covered Leah and carried her back to the others and then they all headed back to Justin's Apartment. Leah woke up at about 11am in a complete state of fight or flight panic as she could still feel the effects of the wolfsbane. After she left the building, the effects of the wolfsbane subsided and she was able to calm down. Willow took her to a coffee shop.
Back at the apartment, Justin cleaned everything to try and remove any traces left of the wolfsbane. While doing so he also got Alice to stand in front of the Magic Mirror. In it Alice was still not visible but a grey translucent spectral form of Freddie with an elongated face could be seen.
