Combat

Combat in Citadel Nine is built around realism. There are no health bars, damage numbers, or visible UI indicators. Players must rely on physical feedback, situational awareness, and an honest understanding of their own limits to survive.

Damage is assessed through sensation and observation. Pain functions as a calibrated warning system, clear enough to signal danger without becoming overwhelming.

Rules of Engagement:

The context of a fight dictates its rules:

  • Fights taking place in sanctioned venues like District 1's Grand Arena are governed by referees who call starts, stops, and rule violations. Win conditions vary by the specific tournament format.
  • Open-world combat has no rules. These encounters end when one side is incapacitated, retreats, or suffers a Desync.

Every fight carries a risk. Gear takes damage in combat, and repairing or replacing high-tier equipment can be a significant financial setback. A broken Silver Tier weapon isn't just an inconvenience; it's a genuine loss that can take weeks or months to recover from.
