The Divine Harmony

The Gods and Godesses of the Divine Harmony encompass many facets and walks of life. It is rare that any of them venture to the Material Plane from the Ascended or Abyssal Planes, as it takes considerable effort to contain their powers on the Material Plane. Still, their influence can be seen throughout the world in various religious institutions and the occasional champion or annointed messenger. They constitute the primary religious culture of Cisum, with those not following any part of the Harmony being few and far between.

Mythology & Lore

At the dawn of time, there was silence. The Gods and Godesses emerged into that silence and found it distasteful. They began to sing, one at a time, changing notes until they found a harmony they found pleasing. It was this Divine Harmony that first formed the world of Cisum from the ether. The Divine Harmony added notes and began to form a melody that most sentients refer to as time. Time began marching at a steady beat, leading to the creation of the plants and animals of Cisum. At times, one diety or another has pushed their note to the forefront of the current chord. When the Divine Harmony is thrown off balance, chaos tends to ensue.   During the first of these times, many abhorant beasts rose from the depths of the earth. The Devil was trying to secure a more dominant position in the Harmony. He was soon joined by The Black Magic Woman, whom held some sympathy for him and saw a chance to grow her own power. The Devil and Black Magic Woman held prominence for a short time, but soon met the combined strength of the others. It was in this moment that the races began to spring forth on Cisum.   Many races awoke within a few decades of each other. Each was inherently instilled with their own language, and their societies formed relatively quickly. But as the chaos of the gods crescendoed, and the abhorant beasts encroached on some of the settlements, the races began to seek understanding and learned of the gods and their varied ways. The races began to worship the gods, as they tried to find their places in the Divine Harmony.   As the races grew in knowledge of both the world and the gods, so did their power over magic and material. Martial and magical champions arose and began to turn back the beasts spawned by the evil gods. Civilization began to take dominion over the wilds.
