Cornum still doesn’t have much lore, but I want to say they were a country started by some small group of humans leaving Uvard for a less politically motivated and warring state of being. The people of Cornum care more about their culture and arts than they do world affairs. However-HOWEVER, if those world affairs will be affecting their ability to create said arts and culture in the future, you bet your ASS they’ll be in it to win it. Because they are very laid back people (most of the time), they have excellent relations with their neighboring countries, and have never truly gone to war among themselves. They did get invovled during the Continental War, but that was for other reasons. (We’re going to say that Cornum highly valued whatever was on those ships and were downright offended that someone would steal them before they reached their target. Anyway, that can be hashed out further in the History section.
Just know that Cornum is full of good food, good music and arts and culture are highly valued there. They are even home to the one Bard’s college in the world.
And there is a tavern in damn near every town.
Places of Interest: (N to S)
The Jewelle- located in Castille. Some say the windows of this tavern have precious gemstones made into them but the name actually refers to the owner’s child, the glass is just stained.
Maricairne Hot Springs- a sulfuric hot spring near the border between Cornum and Malkai.
Blacksmith in Pinecourt.
The Anciphant Eel Pub- A strange type of eel live in the nearby river system, and this Pub is named after them. Why, no one is really sure, they’re ugly beasts and their bite is wicked venomous.
Twisted Sister, located in Plaifront. This tavern is run by a pair of conjoined sisters. They are extremely different in personality, and should you confuse them, they become insulted quite easily. (We are as different as night and day, don’t repeat that mistake or you’ll find yourself dead in the morning type insulted). They are known for their well-staffed establishment with large, muscular Gruntora as body guards, and their equally beautiful waitstaff/entertainers. It is quite difficult for a bard to claim a slot in this tavern, and for some is considered a rite of passage.
Carina Springs- a natural hot spring near the mountains fo Malkai. This spring is insid ea cave and may take killing a monster or two to get to.
Evestad Blacksmith- they specialize in making wired strings for musical instruments.
Cardinal’s Roost- a rowdy events hall that the nearby bard’s college often plays at.
Gennetoise- Home of the Bard’s College. Known for producing the finest of bards.
The Lethal Lute- it has another proper name, but that is what everyone calls it, as the worst of beginner bards frequent this establishment.
Library (Malkain), the library in Gennetoise is part of the Bard’s college and has the most extensive collection of music in the world.

The Tarnished Trumpet Lodge- a beautiful wooden cabin resort just off the Otara river. It is quite close to Malkai, and just a couple days’ journey up the river from Perrillon. Very popular vacation destination as it is also very close to Carina.
White Wolves Auberge- A clean, upstanding sort of place to stay. The cost reflects their amenities offered. One of the largest, high class inns in Ventina, and Cornum as a whole.
Dandelion’s Roadhouse- This establishment roams the roads of Cornum. It appears to be a normal, if not a bit large and ornate, carriage. Once you’ve entered it and sat down, you’re teleported to a pocket dimension containing a massive hotel. Most anything you could want is available inside. Because the carriage is always moving, once you go to leave, you never really can be sure where you’ll be coming out. It’s a delightful place, and many who enter it never leave. If someone were to die in Dandelion’s Roadhouse, Dandelion himself holds a ceremony in their honor inside the massive courtyard there, and their body is cremated. The magic energy they may have been holding reinforces the pocket dimension and the carriage continues to thrive.

Demon’s Blossom, located in Everin. A back alley sort of place that a lot of young people frequent. Unfortunately it is also known for its supply of dried and ground Moshka worms.
Camilla’s Pub- an establishment in Galagon.
Snowcrack Pub- a costal tavern in Arvene known for a type of Chestnut beer. The Arvene district is known for its chestnut groves, specifically the mutant offshoot called snowcrack chestnuts, named because they only open when extremely cold, and are typically harvested during the winter season.
Black Peacock Lounge- A famous classy place to meet and mingle amongt the upper classes. It is quite common to see diplomats and other important people attending events here.

Kishine District Library (Malkain) in Sunheula.
Shamise Courte- a fancy inn with a large courtyard for concerts.
Kokyun Avise Hotel- a hotel in Oldmora
The Faint Troubadour- the story goes that a traveling music man was passign through cornum and fainted at the doorstep of this establishment long before it was a tavern in Frelon. He was cared for by the person living there, and decided to stay. The two made this tavern together.

Library (Malkain)- a library established in the upper west corner of Perríllon. This library has a surprisingly large collection of books about birds and their calls. It also boasts a gallery full of fine arts and musical instruments. You can arrange for music lessons through them.
Elder Canary Inn- an Inn established in the capital. Children in this inn’s neighborhood have taught each other how to whistle like canaries, just to make the birds kept here chirp back at them. The streets are always filled with some sort of music. A hanging wooden sign at the front door has a painted yellow canary on it. If you catch the owner in a good mood, and sing him a good song, they might give you a free room for the night.
Dobro Bridge- a stone bridge over the Dobro River near Perríllon.
Sweet Lime- a bar in the coastal town of Cittarano.
