Races of Eronus
This is a meta-article for new players on the races of Eronus and their relations. Races not mentioned can be assumed to not be in Eronus, but could have traveled in from other continents of the world. Such races are however rare and are likely to get a lot of attention; that said, any playable race defined in the sourcebooks can be played in this campaign.

Races of Eronus
Racism in Eronus can in many ways be compared to how it is in the present day real world. In the past, racial differences were much greater and wars were fought between races, but now it plays a much smaller role. There may be some races who are less welcome than others, and some treated a bit different than others, but mostly all races are quite equal. Some races are very integrated with the dominant human race, while others chose to live on their own. All the common races of Eronus is described belowAasimar
Main article: N/A Like anywhere else, it happens that a child is born touched by a celestial; but it is equally rare in Eronus. Often an aasimar will go an entire lifespan not meeting any other aasimars. It is a gift and a burden to be borne with this touch, as many will have an opinion about you and your destiny. Important: If you want to play an Aasimar, that is definitely possible, but be sure to contact me about creating your backstory and hearing the consequences of picking this race first. It is likely to have a great impact on how characters in the game act around you.Dragonborn
Main article: N/A Dragons are near extinct in Eronus, as most were killed in the third dragonwars by the dwarfs in ancient times. Dwarves, who were also nearly wiped out by dragons, dislike Dragonborn but also respect them. A dwarf is unlikely to be the friend of a dragonborn, but he will allow its presence. Elves, who ended up allying with the dragons after the second dragonwar revere dragons as one of natures finest creations, one of very few creations finer than themselves. They perceive dragonborns as their equals, and are generally welcoming towards them. All other races have no particular feeling towards the dragonborn, there is likely to be a few in every city, especially near the mountains. They are curiosities, but nothing more.Dwarf
Main article: N/A The dwarfs are one of the races best integrated with human society. They have their own few cities in the mountains, but many dwarfs have also found a living outside the mountains, living alongside humans. They are appreciated for the handiwork, sturdiness, and trustworthiness. They generally dislike elves who look down upon them (literally) but it is not a grudge that leads to conflict.Elf
Main article: Elves The elves used to travel the lands much more while The Dawnspeakers ruled, but during the civil war, the reclused themselves in their two major cities. They consider themselves above human politics, and they have a great disdain for the newly established magistrate. Even though most elves have magical capabilities, very few would ever let themselves be authorized by the magistrate. As such, a large part of elven society is illegal spellcasters in the eyes of the human regime. The high elves mainly live in Lyrendale in southern Eronus, and the wood elves have sequestered themselves in the north in Galdron. Eladrin elves are in this world considered an elf variant of Aasimar. They are very rare, but live among the regular elves. There are some drow elves living deep under the mountains as well as in the ashen lands. They are a hunted race, not commonly accepted by any other race. Half-elves are welcomed by humans without much of a second thought, but other elves often disregard them. Not out of hostility, just indifference, considering them a lesser folk.Firbolg
Main article: N/A A rare folk living in the forests in the Riverlands. They have been around for as long as anyone remembers, but very rarely have they engaged with society. When they do they are welcomed, considered a warm and friendly people, albeit a lot of myths exist about them and what they do.Goblin
Main article: N/A Goblins live in the mountains, mainly in the southern part of Eronus where dwarves aren't as prevelent. Most people, with good reason, act with great hostility towards goblins. As a race, they are disdained as much as drow but feared a lot less; only their ability to reproduce fast and live in hard-to-reach places in the mountains have saved them from being wiped out by humans and elves alike.Halfling
Main article: N/A Halflings live alongside humans and are quite common. Often from 5-10% of the population in human cities are halflings. As such, most other races have grown very used to them, and they are not treated all that different to humans, except in physical labor where their small size can cause them to be rejected.Human
Main article: Human Humans are by far the dominant race in Eronus. Aside from in the mountains, which are considered dangerous for humans, the elven cities as well as the islands to the west, humans are everywhere on the continent of Eronus and surrounding areas, be in it in small clusters, cozy towns or massive cities. They have divided the country into 6 regions, each with a regional capital. Their capital for the entire country is Incantia (notably not the regional capital of Borde Roux in which it lies). In Eronus, there are primarily three ethnicities of humans. There are the westerners, these compare to northwestern european ranging from english to french and live mostly west of the mountain ridge, but have become prevalent on the Plains of Catavio. Then there are the san'dan living in the deserts to east, a brown skinned people. Some of this group are also black, hailing from some of the trade colonies to the east.
