Galmund is the eldest child, he lacks the kind of flashy combat magic his family is known for. The lack of beard has been seen as a bad omen by his family. The second child, however, is known as a combat magic prodigy, specializing in the rare storm magic, whom the original male founder of the family also specialized in. We'll say it's been about 10 generations, unless you say otherwise. Galmund's younger brother embodies the epitome of warrior mage; muscular, fast-witted, and has a glorious beard. Anyways, Galmund's family lowers there expectations of Galmund, and it is a well known secret that they plan to have his younger brother take over as the head of the family. For a long time, Galmund was okay with this scenario, accepting his fate as being used for a marriage connection, nothing more. That was until he wandered into the manor's garden, where he met an old elven women, Tulip (I mean old, think granny). After some exchange, Tulip begins teaching Galmund plant magic, to which he has an affinity for. He does these lessons in secret, since plant magic is typically frowned upon as being a "weak" magic
Alright, so you are part of the Chronum empire. You would be a pseudo self governing state in the southern section. Works cooperatively with other city states in the empire such as the state alchemists in their capital. Your kingdom has been very vocal about the expansion of Waltenburg into neighboring empires and has also had some reason to suspect foul play from the heads of state in the alchemists. While the rank and file alchemists are little more than officer rank soldiers, the command group has been making odd moves and requests.
