Oazallan Conflict
The Conflict
Prelude
Northen Cinder's Hope had made contact with the South using Seafarers long before land routes. This is because the Oazallian Desert was thought to be completely impassable for nearly all of the Current Age. Any and all scouts and pioneers who drifted beyond the dunes never returned or made contact again. Many of these individuals were extremely well equipped for trek south, however, what was unknown at the time was that this desert was the haunting grounds of the Oazian Bloodletters. For centuries now, it became clear that the native settlers of the Desert were openly hostile towards outsiders, causing the impassability of the desert. With this new knowlege, it was decided that military force along with expediciary strength would need to be deployed in order to establish a land route to Southern Cinder's Hope.
Deployment
As the conflict progressed and Northern forces came into View of the great Walls of Oazalla Word was sent back north to tell of this discovery and The Gray Order diplomats hurriedly traveled South along the war-torn path. The Establishment of Rayneir's Pass being a boon for supply lines and a temporary Bastion was costructed at the weasternmost end of the Northern Desert Strait. As the Gray Order diplomats were between the Pass and the Bastion, a Noble Dignitary from Oazalla made first contact with the military force stationed at the bastion. There, it was clarified that the Bloodletters did not hail from the city and did not represent its goals. It was also revealed that due to the interference by the bloodletters, the people of Oazalla believed that the whole world was a turbulant and unforgiving desert and that only savages and monsters dwelled beyond the sand. This discovery began to change the tide of Oazallan Relations as diplomats told the Noble stories of Lush Green lands, of Snowy Peaks and Rain.
During first contact, a large military force became known. It was south of Oazalla and moving NorthEast, towards the bastion. The Noble Returned swifty to the saftey of Oazallan Walls while the Northern Armies began to shore up defences to address the new threat. While a large portion of this army was Oazian Bloodletters it was further reinforced by Storm Raiders, TrueSpear Emissaries, and a number of retainers under no particular banner. While under no offical colors, the armaments of this group were similar to those used by Dunleid Bannermen. After the fact, it was discovered the mercenaries were paid in both Dunleid and Oazallan Coin. Viewing this, a regiment of Oazallan Guardsmen were sent by the in-city nobility of Oazalla to aid the North. The Final clash led to the harrowing of both sides of the conflict, leading to many losses and innumerable wounded. Battered and bloody, in the end the Northern armies stood over their foes, cut-down from the conflict and turning miles of sand to a blackened red mud. The remainder of the soldiers and fighters were invited to Oazalla where their wounds were treated and true talks between the north and central cinder's hope began.
