Astral Shade

Basic Information

Anatomy

Astral shades resemble mundane beings and are not limited to sapient entities, although they are much more common as such. Beings effected by the astral often retain their basic shape but may have strange proportions, twisted morphology, and or impossible disconnections.

Biological Traits

Astral shades are the result of over-exposure or hyperextension of one's physical manifestation into the Astral Plane. When a being is overburdoned with the raw potentiality of the Astral their physiology is twisted and mind scattered. They become but echoes of their former selves their mundane nature corrupted by procedural and perceptive powers. While most astral shades dissolve competely within the astral, their raw potential scattered into the formless endless, many persist within pockets of strange reality, bent and twisted by their strange experiance, their agony crystalizes and inure's the being from the effects of astral exposure.

Ecology and Habitats

While most of these creatures are stuck within the astral, they have been known to be able to manifest in places which hold great sentimental value or significant memory.

Behaviour

While not all astral shades are violent in nature, oftentimes their behavior is like that of a coma or fugue state, they have been known to attack and damage the living.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Most astral shades exhibit discoloration along with their warped appearance. Crytalization of the flesh is common, often growing opaque and sharp structures. Green, blue, and purple hues are known to replace the tint of their living flesh.
