The Ritual

When each Fae reaches the age of maturity for their race, they are to take part in the Ritual to determine their alignment. The Custos of the city will prepare the components of the Ritual and those who take part are sworn to never discuss it. After the Ritual is complete, the Fae who emerge will have been chosen by the Dark or Light and recorded by the Custos as such. Those rejected become Under Fae and are stricken from the annals of the Fae to be forgotten by history.
