Jaguar Snakes

After a night of uninterrupted rest and sleep the party ready themselves for entering the chamber. Fang detects there is a fiend nearby. And Yesne tries to remember what it is she remembers about fiends. Fiends found on planes. Fiends are in two camps, demons that live on infinite layers abyss and devils who live on the 9 layers of hell. Common things, even lower level devils or demons is they often have a lot of immunities to damages and they can also be immune to non magical weapons. If you do know the true name you can bind it to your will. With powerful spells you can summon and bind a demon for a short period of time.   Having received various amounts of help from Nisus and Fang the party stealthily enter the room and make their way towards the crystal. Elessa sees that there are signs of battle, towards the tree line there is a slumped body with various others lying nearby.   Yesne looks at the crystal, there is something inside it moving which fills most of the space. It’s a black mass, the crystal itself looks very thin. The tendrils seem to be going through the crystal rather than from it.   Fang and Elessa head to the body, it is a dead ‘undead’ in full plate mail. Behind it is an archway, with carvings up and down it. It is on a mosaic plinth. The carvings look like snakes running up it with leaping jaguars at the top. The mosaic floor is a yawning jaguar and beneath it are 12 holes which would fit the blocks we found.   The body has a necklace around its neck - a small hammer made of crystal in the same colour of red as the crystal. Fang takes the crystal and they drag the body out. The body also has a longsword (+1).   Bjorn tries to hit the crystal with his hammer and he is thrown backwards.   Fang takes the hammer amulet and tries to hit the crystal with that. The crystal starts to crack and smashes to pieces, the tendrils are sucked into a large creature which crashes down to the floor. Creature was a fiend, something the likes that the party had never seen before.   This was a demon from one of the infinite layers of the abyss. Demons are chaotic evil. It was a Glabrezu, quite a senior level of demon, normally they’re very intelligent creatures.   Nisus, feels like a haze has been lifted and the pulling sensation has been freed from his chest.   Sword, staff, wand and a cube NDZNPFInvestigating the holes in the floor Kailyn and Yesne deduce that there are two six letter words. After deliberating for some time Yesne realises each block has a double letter and so realises that she can spell ‘JAGUAR’ ‘SNAKES’   The party decide it needs to have a rest before putting the blocks in the spaces. During the nights resting, Kailyn, whilst investigating the sword, notices that the archway rippled slightly. He stands and moves towards the archway and rolls a ball of music through the archway which rolls straight through.   During Fangs watch she walks the jungle which feels infinite but seems that she always ends up around the archway no matter the direction she takes.
