The Cerulean Republic

Location

The Cerulean Republic is a country located to the west of The Espira Forest. Its northern border is entirely seaport, with Star Ocean to the north. To the west and south of the country flows the Great River, providing plenty of barge traffic. The base of a mountain range, the Tymorean Iron Massif, is home to the city of Radiant Reach, while the city of Cedarhold, located to the east, specializes in lumbering. The island city of Astral Isle is located a distance away to the northwest. The Lost Harbor of Cerul, an ancient sunken city, can be found to the west of the capital.

Government

The Cerulean Republic is a Merchant Republic, in which the right to vote must be purchased. As a result, the leadership of the country comes from the wealthy merchants of the land, almost entirely. The head of state is the Crown Governor and other cities are run by governors. The current Crown Governor, Lord Vaxel Blackwood, has held power for the past 10 years.

Economy

The Cerulean Republic's economy is primarily driven by trade and commerce. The country's ports are a hub for trade and its merchants are known for their shrewdness and business acumen. The cities of Radiant Reach and Cedarhold also contribute to the economy through mining and lumbering respectively. Astral Isle is known for its shipbuilding and pearl diving industries. The Lost Harbor of Cerul, with its ancient technology and treasures, is also a major draw for treasure hunters and archeologists. Population The Cerulean Republic has a diverse population, with humans being the main populace. Halflings and Dwarves are also abundant. Many Tieflings and Half-Elves find themselves at home here. The island city of Astral Isle is largely Triton, with a fair number of Tritons living in the capital as well.

Culture

The Cerulean Republic is a melting pot of cultures and customs. The mixing of different races and nationalities has led to a unique and diverse culture. The people of the country are fiercely independent and value their freedom above all else. They are also known for their love of good food, music and celebration. The Lost Harbor of Cerul also holds a special place in the culture of The Cerulean Republic, as the ancient city serves as a reminder of the country's rich history and heritage.

Threats

The Cerulean Republic's economy and way of life is dependent on the sea and the protection of its ports. Pirates and sea monsters are a constant threat to the country's ships and trade routes. The Tymorean Iron Massif to the west is also home to various dangerous creatures.
