Zadi's Tale of Creation

Long ago there was nothing. Empty space upon a canvas of darkness. Something any great artist would want to paint a wonderful picture upon. Then came that artist a dreamer of amazing things. Someone so intrigued by what they could paint upon this canvas. It took them an unimaginable time to create such a wonder. Though they didn't stop there. They created many wonderful pieces that were connected by the lines that lied between them.
In time this dreamer began to grow tired. Though they felt there was much more to do it knew it needed to sleep so its creation could truly come to life. So as its last moments awake it created those caretakers who would be there when their creation comes to life. They were given unnatural life that would have them live from the beginning to the end of all creation. They would call themselves eternal and each held a secret of creation that gave them power.
These beings would one day claim a realm for themselves to experiment and create their own great works that were forged within them. For a time this is all they knew, but when other sentient beings came to life either by their hands or by the design of the dreamer they began to see other paths.
Some sought to live amongst these mortals, others saw them as tools for their great designs. Some even though it wise to teach them their secret of creation. Though no matter what it would all lead to tragedy. Either for the mortal or the eternal. But that is another tale.
