The Rite of Beasts

The rite of beasts is an ancient tradition that is known to be followed by the deminor as a way to prove someone worthy as a shaman. This rite is performed when an apprentice shaman is ready to take on the true mantle of shaman. The apprentice must traverse the land gaining the blessing of many great spirits. Depending on the duty the shaman is being trained for may make it necesary for them to take on more challenging tasks. Along the way they must travel alone and survive with their own skills. Most will have no aid of any kind while others may have companions to aid them on their journey. 
Even after gaining the title of shaman many shamans may perform this rite again to reaffirm their connection with the spirits or seek a means to over come a problem. even the great shamans are known to do this every few years to hone their connection with the spirits of the world and as a means to further thier training.
The rite is based on the journey that Talion took with his brother to gain the power of spirits to aid them on their quest to defeat the Lazari.
