The Miners Rebellion

The Miners Rebellion occurred in one of the mining outpost in the frozen lands when safety issues reached critical levels. A group of Miners sought change to the system only for a protest to become bloody. No one knows if the Miners or the Company started the blood shed. All that can be said is that this event would be the first sight of coming conflict to the city. As the actions of this event would give birth to groups that would want to create change so such an event doesn't occur.
Many in the company has done all they can to discredit events and paint the miners as terrorist to the progress that the city was built on. Though some know the truth of how the company moved to stop the workers from having a say in thier future. Better to have them dead than for these thoughts to spread to other miner camps.
Virginia McKinney was the woman who started the protest and the one who took the blame when everythign fell apart. Belived dead when her transport was attacked by an ice crusher. Though it wasn't long after her supposed death that the Unbroken formed.

The Conflict

Deployment

The company sent its on security force backed by the guards of the city to deal with the protest. This would be seen as hostile against the miners and would increase the tension between the groups until blood shed occurs.

A mining outpost situated in the frozen lands.

Outcome

The death of many miners and only a few security forces members. This would also lead to the survivors being considered criminals who were forced to pay for their crime at one of the prison mining camps. Many never being seen again.

Aftermath

The growing tension between the working class and the companies that they are forced to work for. It also what began the freelance movement and the formation of the Miners Union which has been working to better the lives of miners.

Historical Significance

This incident was the start of a group of future battles between miners and Carson Mining. This would lead to set backs with the company and growing unrest amongst the worker class. Only when the miners rebelion was finally squashed did everything become buisness as usual.

Legacy

The Freelancers:
The Freelancers were born from this event as many didn't want to work under the boot of the companies. Choosing to take on jobs that is worth it for them in comparison to the risk. These individuals would be vilified as the companies liked using contracts to lock their workers in and didn't like the idea that a worker may go work to a competitor.
The Unbroken:   The Unbroken were formed by remnants of the survivors of the rebelion and those who were inspired by those events. They are a rebelious group dedicated to fight against the unjust actions of the companys and nobles of Salire. Even as they are pushed to the shadoes, they will remain unbroken by the actions of their oppresors.
