The Challenge of Spirits

Every few years the great spirits ask for a challenge to be fulfilled. A grand hunt where hunters take a chance to hunt the strongest and most powerful beasts in all the lands. These beast having been enhanced by different spirits to act as guardians for the spirits. Are given the chance to prove their place or gain the honorable death worthy of their power.
This challenge has taken the lives of many hunters and shamans as well as many of these guardian creatures. Those warriors who prove themselves are favored forever by the spirits and will be accepted to serve the spirits in their next life.

History

The first challenge was actually the trial that the Hero Talion performed to gain the power of the primal spirit. The tradition continued after the first as a means to maintain the pact. With time it has only gotten harder as the beast grew stronger as each one felled. Some even beginning to be smarter and wiser than those that hunted them. Gaining new abilities and physical traits as the spirits began to enjoy these contests of blood and death. While there is still honor in succeeding in the challenge it has cost many their loved ones over the years.

Execution

A hunter is chosen by one of the villages to take part. They must prove themselves by challenging many dangerous creatures before gaining the honor to take up the challenge. They then must perform a task for the great spirit before being given a recipe to summon the creature. They must then seek out the ingredients in making the bait and when done must set it up at the challenge area.
When the beast comes they are then put in a life and death battle to kill a beast blessed by the spirits. If they succeed they will gain the blessing of the spirits.

Components and tools

A knife, a bow, and melee weapon. They must also have the bait designed as they been told.
