Shrine of the Primal Spirits

The Shrine of the Primal Spirits is dedicated to the primal spirits that define the Deminor way of life. It is not made to worship the spirits but as a place to serve the spirits and nature itself. Here the great shamans commune with the spirits and find out what problems disturb the natural world. Then they can go about fixing the problem and restoring the balance.

Purpose / Function

It was built to act as a place to commune with the primal spirits of the world. Here many spirits come to inform the great shamans of the imbalances of the world. Then the great shamans can task lower shamans or warriors to go out and restore the balance. It also acts as a seat of power by the council of shamans as they tend to meet here to make decisions.

Alterations

Originally it was a small shrine sitting at the foot of great Zidsan. Over time this has changed as the Shrine grew to surround and work with the great tree.

Architecture

The shrine is made of stone that surrounds the great zidsan. It does not obstruct the growth of the tree but is designed to protect it as it is the source of the primal magic for the deminor. There are carvings of runes amongst many of the stone walls and pillars that are said to hold secret magic as a way to protect the great tree.

History

The Shrine was first built after the fall of the ancients, by Talion who unlocked his primal magic here before the war. It was a sacred place used to teach other deminors the ways of primal magic before it became widespread. Later the great shamans would be founded and they would watch over this place and other sacred places. Eventually, a village grew around it which is now a massive city. The shrine that was made of wood, became stone. What was small became large. Now it is the seat of power for the deminor.
