Prompt 5: Funars

Funars (True Blood) were once a proud magical Tribe that once lived alongside the andelics. They were once a great people who mastered both elemental magic and fallen magic. Capable of communing with both the dead and the elemental spirits of the world. They were part of the andelic armies and priesthoods. Though when the andelics were cursed by the fallen one they also ended up cursed. While the Andelics died out they were allowed to live. Though they lost control over the magics they once commanded.   The elemental magic they once commanded lied dormant within them. Leaving them unable to harness the magic within themselves. It was much worse than simply being unable to harness their own magic. They were also incapable of using runes as they had severe backlash that caused great pain in their bodies. This made it hard to get by in a world were magic was once key.   The fallen magic that they were once gifted with also became a curse. Most Funars are haunted by spirits by the time they reach thirteen. Able to see and sense the dead overtime. Just like the elemental magic they have no control over, they also don't have control over this power. Most will go insane from the spirits, while others would end up with their life force drained as the spirits seek the life they hold within.   Because of their connection with the andelics and the fallen one's curse they are seen as dirty or corrupted. Many of the old human tribes would attack them or force them out of their territories. This forced them to become nomadic and to do all they can to stay out of the way of other tribes.   When the beast clans came to the western lands they were one of the first to want to take the Presari's Deal. Many of the other human tribes didn't want them to come, but some were convinced they could be useful as some of the first to head there. While they hopped to prove themselves worthy, in the end they were treated like fodder and sacrifice.
