The Essence Scanner Device or ESD is a device created by Professor Theobald to track the level of of Essence in an area or object. This has allowed for an easy wat to determine the quality of Zidsan pearls as well as detect loacations of large build up of Essence. There has even been testing to scan for the ammount of essence in a person. It is thanks to this device that the Professor figured out the diffrent threshold levels of essence build up needed to trigger a mutation in an individual.
