Essence Based Magic

Essence based magic is any kind of magic that draws on the power that permeates the world of Unsu. Sometimes called zid from its connection to the zidian trees that grow filled with essence. This power is closely tied with nature as those more in touch can harness it. While not every race can use it naturally, most can find ways to harness it's power.

The Cost:

The Cost of essence magic comes from the self or the world around them. The drain can cause the user to grow tired for a time or drain the life out of the plants and the soil depending on the power of the spell.

Side/Secondary Effects

Over use of essence begins to alter the body to take on aspects of the magic commonly used by the spell caster.

Manifestation

Glowing energy or symbols that can be used to manipulate matter or energy. The different types of essence have a strong effect in how it manifest.

Applied Restriction

The Limitation of essence magic is that very few races can harness it naturally while the rest have to use runes. It also has an active and pasive form. Once it becomes active it can't be drawn own or used to cast spells as it has already been shaped into a spell. This means that to many spells in an area can leave more active essence which has a habit of pushing passive essence from an area.

Weakness:

It is known that death corruption can feed on passive essence. Red Iron can also absorb active essence and can release  it back thanks to  glyphs.
