Caslan Corfs

Caslan Corfs are the emissaries of the blood fungus. A dangerous fungus that can bestow power of evolution for the sacrifice of everything you were before. These creatures are beast that took a bite of the fungus and spread the fungus to their decedents. - Talion

Caslan Corfs are creatures that come from the realm of Chaos. These creatures are said to be highly dangerous and adaptable, being able to mutate to better survive in any environment. There blood is said to have the secrets of evolution which can cause similar mutations in any organism that ingest it.
There hasn't been and dealings with such creatures as no one has used a gateway for hundreds of years. Meaning so far the only way such an encounter to happen is if there are still any hidden nest in a Lazari ruin or if someone was to encounter a rift to the realm of chaos. Luckily so far those possibilities have only been found in stories of old.

Basic Information

Anatomy

There are different forms of Caslan Corfs based on what the creature has adapted to though most of the forms are based on three main forms or breeds.

Quadruped Breed:

This is the most common breed of the Caslan Corfs. They have similar forms to lupine and felines. Some even getting as large to be closer to a rhino or a elephant. This breed tends to be the most common form of Caslan Corfs written about and even drawn in art.

Bipedal Breed:

Bipedal Caslan Corfs are rare and highly dangerous. Rather smart and skilled creatures who may have some form of sentience. These creatures are capable of using the tools and weapons we wield against them against us. It is also rumored that these creatures are actually people who been contaminated and transformed. So far we have no truth of this.

Slithering Breed:

The hardest and most dangerous of the Caslan Corfs. Said to be a leader of a group of Caslan Corfs. These creatures are capable of burrowing into the ground to create nest for the creatures. It is believed if you kill one of the slithering you can eliminate an entire colony of Caslan Corfs.

Genetics and Reproduction

Not much is known about their reproduction as most have been exterminated before they could even thing about it.

Ecology and Habitats

They come from the realm of chaos and tend to live near blood fungus. Capable of thriving in other environments, they seem to be drawn to the decay the fungus brings through it's roots.

Behaviour

They are aggressive against other species doing everything they can to eliminate all creatures they consider a danger to their nest. Observed from a distance they seem to be rather docile and care for each other deeply.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

They have some of the blood fungus within them making them perfect subjects to gather blood fungus materials. Some even have a fungal heart that can be rather valuable to certain individuals.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They have access to sight and smell in hunting prey. They also seem to be able to track the essence that flows through a creature. Causing them to be drawn to individuals who have high level of essence.
