Monster Parts

Within the Doors there can be found many different types of creatures unlike those found normally on earth and thus are treated with much more finesse when it comes to dismantling their parts to collect hides and furs to sell on the market for great prices dependent on their rarity and quality.

Properties

Material Characteristics

When monsters have a variety of hides from the deep red fur of the Redwood Wolves, to the dulling gold scales of a Gold-Plated Sand Viper, they all tend to have their own distinct array of colors and textures.

Origin & Source

The monsters found within the Doors are magical in nature and have wondrous properties due to being infused with this energy. Thus each part of a monster is highly valued for its unknown potential.

Life & Expiration

Unlike the material of the animals from earth, monster parts do not seem to decay normally without magical intervention.

History & Usage

History

At first many people did not know what to do with the leftovers of monsters from in the Doors and simply left them their without a thought until one day a group of Divers were found to taking their time to skin and make gear out of the more durable resource. Even though it was not a revolutionary idea, the use of the monster hides exploded in popularity as their abilities became more prevalent the more Doors one would enter compared to normal metals and leather found in earth.

Everyday use

Monster hides are normally used in the creation and reinforcement of armor for Divers giving them the same toughness as the monsters they struggle to overcome as well as their abnormal qualities compared to earth based materials. Most of the furs and finer skins can be sold to tailors to create into exotic clothing and decorations that can be seen either in more lavish establishments or guilds.

Refinement

At first it is just skinned off a monster and needs to be preserved properly much like normal leathers and skins, then eventually the material is trimmed, hardened and formed into a type of item.

Distribution

Trade & Market

The many different materials harvested from monsters can be sold either privately or through the Bazaar a market established by the WDA to host a variety of services by and for Divers.
