Saga of Fall of Cadere

The Saga of the Fall of Cadere

Prologue: The Holy Land of Cadere

The Holy Land of Cadere was a revered realm governed by Saintess Arianna and the clergy. Known across the continent for its peace and unity, Cadere attracted pilgrims, scholars, and priests from all human kingdoms, standing as a beacon of sanctity.

Act I: Rising Tensions

The serenity of Cadere was shattered when ancient and powerful relics were unearthed. The discovery ignited ambitions among the neighboring kingdoms of Armorica, Szewia, and the South Imvien Kingdom, each eager to claim the relics and assert their dominance over all humans.

Act II: The True Holders of Holiness

Armorica, Szewia, and the South Imvien Kingdom each declared themselves the rightful rulers of the sacred land, igniting a war to establish their supremacy. The Gothians, preoccupied with defending against threats from the Malus Peninsula, abstained from the conflict.

Act III: The Gathering Armies

Armies from Armorica, led by General Alaric; Szewia, under King Aemilius; and the South Imvien Kingdom, commanded by King Marcus and his daughter, Princess Phyllida, converged near Cadere. Each faction was determined to prove their divine right to rule, preparing for a decisive confrontation.

Act IV: The Battle of Cadere

The first major battle erupted in the fields surrounding Cadere. Armorica's disciplined infantry clashed with Szewia's formidable cavalry and the naval forces of the Imviens. Despite their valor, the defenders of Cadere struggled against the combined might of the invaders.

Act V: The Siege and Treachery

Armorica laid siege to Cadere, hoping to starve the defenders into submission. Inside the city, Saintess Arianna and the clergy performed miracles to sustain morale. Princess Phyllida and her loyal knights, including the valiant Jarlath, defended the city with unwavering resolve.   At the same time, the Armoricans launched a campaign against the South Imvien homeland, stretching their defenses thin. King Marcus, fighting to protect Cadere, was unaware of the full scope of the threat to his kingdom. In a desperate move, Phyllida sought an alliance with the clergy, hoping to secure divine intervention. However, internal treachery unraveled these plans. The High Priest, secretly allied with Armorica, betrayed the city, allowing Armorican forces to breach the walls.

Act VI: The Fall of Cadere

With the walls breached, the defenders made a final stand in the city's heart. Jarlath fought bravely to protect Princess Phyllida, but the overwhelming enemy forces proved too strong. Saintess Arianna, seeing the imminent fall, entrusted Phyllida with a sacred relic, instructing her to flee and preserve Cadere's legacy.   In the chaos, King Marcus was assassinated by an Armorican spy, further demoralizing the defenders. The South Imvien Kingdom was destroyed, and Cadere fell to the invaders. Princess Phyllida and Jarlath, with a small group of survivors, escaped to the sea, carrying the hope of Cadere with them.

Act VII: The Aftermath

The fall of Cadere marked the end of an era. Armorica, Szewia, and the remaining factions claimed victory and control over the sacred relics, but the unity and peace of Cadere were lost. Phyllida and Jarlath vowed to find a new home for their people, embarking on a perilous journey to the unknown seas.   This saga of Cadere's fall and the subsequent journey of its survivors became a cornerstone of legend in Arshmunnu, a testament to the enduring spirit of those who fought for their beliefs and the hope for a better future.
