Everbyrn - Faith

The Everbyrn is a powerful blue flame that is said to have been created by the wylder of fire as a blessing to mortality. While the location of the original flame has been lost, the knights of the everybyrn have kept the flame alive by carrying it by holy torch.

Keeping the flame Alive

Central to the faith are the knights of the Everbyrn, a collection of esteemed fighters, paladins and monks, whose sole purpose in life to keep the flame safe. According to lore the original flame was attacked by the great wyrm of Cold Winds, Ashkatla. The original knights bravely fought the beast and forced into hiding for centuries, but it was too late. The flame had already begun to flick, so to save it they all constructed bronze and silver torches blessed by the feyoric god of Justice, whose name today is lost. These torches would carry the flame onwards as the knights scattered to construct temples in its name. The largest such temple is in Snaulen.

The Everbyrn Games

Once a year the Everbyrn games are held on Snaulen in honor of the flame's many blessings. It involves various winter sports like skiing and ice skating. Many visit the planet just to watch what may be the most popular sports event in the union. Every victory gives a medal, with the first place receiving the coveted gold medal within which burns a tiny spark of the Everbyrn.

Tenets and Ideals

Followers of the everbyrn are often highly dedicated to its cause, spending years of their life in service of it. Becoming an Everbyrn knight is not easy, involving years of training. Some ideals an Everybyrn knight must exhibit are

• A willingness to spread the warmth of the Everbyrn, making sure others are safe and happy in your presence
• To never seek power for yourself and never lose control of your virtues, as a flame without control only destroys
• To keep the flame and its prodigies protected at all costs, and search out new locations for sparks to grow into temples anew.
