The Earth Shaper

Brief History:

The Earth Shaper entered the mortal realm when they saw the dragons flying free while oppressing the mortals living there. The Earth Shaper decided to make the terrain much more difficult for dragons to traverse by creating massive landmarks to separate the larger populations of dragons from other groups of people, and giving those people the ability to hide from their aerial oppressors. Even some of the empires that were lead by the dragons were swallowed up by the earth itself.
As the people began to organize into more peaceful settlements, they needed weapons and armor to defend themselves from the few dragons that remained, so The Earth Shaper gave them metal to shape. He formed weapons of iron, bronze, and some ingenious few were even able to make steel! After they drove the dragons back, they started using the metal given to them to wage war on each other. The Earth Shaper did not like this and decided to hide the metal deep underground and only gave the ability to easily find it to those who would not use it for any reason other than self defense.
The Earth Shaper knew that this world was a dangerous one and everybody needed to be able to rely upon each other in order to survive. He taught his followers to weave powerful communities that can trust one another, no matter the situation. A dependable family is the bedrock of a strong city.

Power Investiture

Power Investiture 1 (Acolyte): Vow (A Steady Rock) [-5] or Vow (A Steadfast Foundation) [-10]

Power Investiture 3 (Champion): Vow (A Steadfast Foundation) [-10], Unusual Background (Blessed by The Earth Shaper) [15], and a Reaction Number of 14+ from The Earth Shaper
Power Investiture 4 (Zealot): A Reaction Number of 16+ from The Earth Shaper

Vow (A Steady Rock) [-5]: You allies should be able to rely on you. If they need help, you're more than happy to offer it. This is the same as Sense of Duty (Adventuring Party/Small Group of Friends) and cannot be taken with it.
Vow (A Steadfast Foundation) [-10]: Everyone you know understands that you're their for them. You would never betray them, and you will always be their to lend a hand if they ask. This is the same as Sense of Duty (Large Group) and cannot be taken with it.

Spells

To buy spells, you must have the appropriate Power Investiture level. To use spells, you need to be in at least a Low Sanctity area and have a Holy Symbol of the Earth Shaper in your hand or inscribed to your weapon, shield, or armor.

Acolyte:

  • Recover Energy: Rest and recover Fatigue Points much more quickly than normal by drawing from the primal energy around them.
  • Seek Earth: Find a distance and direction to the nearest deposit of a specific kind of earth, metal, or stone.
  • Seek Pass: Find a distance and direction of the nearest pass through a mountain range.
  • Shape Earth: Move earth around

Cleric:

  • Earth to Stone: Harden soil into rock, or rock into a simple metal.
  • Earth Vision: See through soil and uncut stone.
  • Predict Earth Movement: Tells you if any kind of natural landslides, earthquakes, or volcanic activity is likely to occur in an area.
  • Rain of Stones: Stones rain from the sky onto the area.
  • Stone to Earth: Turns an entire stone object into soil, or a simple metal object into stone.
  • Stone Missile: Fire a stone projectile at a target.

  • Mud Jet [Requires Power Investiture (The Frozen Depths) 2]: Shoot a jet of mud to blind or knockback something.
  • Resist Acid [Requires Power Investiture (The Frozen Depths 2]: The subject becomes immune to the effects of acid.

  • Sand Jet [Requires Power Investiture (The Tempest) 2]: Shoot a jet of sand to blind or knockback something.

Champion:

  • Body of Stone: Your body becomes animated solid stone.
  • Increase Burden: Make an object heavier.
  • Iron Arm: Automatically parry a blow with your arm while it is as hard as iron.
  • Walk through Earth: Allows you to walk through anything rock or soil as if it was air.

  • Rain of Acid [Requires Power Investiture (The Frozen Depths 3]: Make acid droplets rain down from the sky.

  • Shape Metal (Requires Power Investiture (The Eternal Flame) 3]: Move solid or liquid metal and shape it into any form.

  • Create Earth Elemental: You can create and control an Earth Elemental.
  • Create Acid Elemental (Requires Power Investiture (The Frozen Depths) 3]: You can create and control an Acid Elemental.
  • Create Sand Elemental (Requires Power Investiture (The Tempest 3]: You can create and control a Sand Elemental.
  • Create Lava Elemental (Requires Power Investiture (The Eternal Flame) 3]: You can create and control a Lava Elemental.

Zealot:

  • Alter Terrain: Temporarily transform the shape and makeup of any stone or dirt in an area.
  • Earthquake: Shake an area of earth. This can be a slight disturbance or a devistating seismic event.
  • Entombment: The earth instatnly swallows the subject.
  • Move Terrain: Shrink an area so that it can be moved to another location.
  • Steelwraith: You pass through any kind of simple metal and metal passes through you. You are still affected by Guilded Bronze, Black Steel, Ethereal Silver, and Fiendish Metal.

  • Sandstorm (Requires Power Investiture (The Tempest 4]: Create a Windstorm (above) but with sand which can obscure or even blind people.

  • Body of Metal [Requires Power Investiture (The Eternal Flame) 4]: You become animated solid steel.
  • Volcano [Requires Power Investiture (The Eternal Flame) 4]: Temporarily create a volcano that spews lava in an area.

Powers

This shell covers everything but your arms and face so you can still fight if necessary. There is enough wiggle room, however, to allow you to attempt to dodge. This shell anchors you to the ground, removing your ability to move. Its a Ready Manuever to remove the shell. Whenever you recover HP recover DR at a similar rate.

    On a Ready Maneuver, a large plate of rock is created and floats a little bit in front of you. This reduces the damage of all incoming attacks from in front of you (a 180 degree arc) by 4. This also blocks your ability to see forward (if you do not have Earth Vision active) and also makes you unable to attack anything in front of you. It can, however, be discarded as a free action.
    If you take an All-Out Defense maneuver, then you may activate Stone Shield as a part of your Active Defense.

Only corrosive and cutting attacks can free the target. If anyone else walks or runs through the area within the next 10 seconds, they are also bound. If someone is freed from the binding, they must attempt to leap, fly, or exit the area without touching the ground in another way or they will end up bound again.

  • Concussive Fists (P): Affliction (Follow-Up: Crushing Strikers) + Earth Shaper Essence 2 [8]
    You're fists or other crushing strikers have powerful concussive hits. Once per second whenever you hit a target with a crushing natural weapon and you've inflicted HP damage with that attack, Your opponent must pass an HT roll or be Stunned / Stunned. They will recover after one second of being stunned.
    The HT roll to avoid stunning is reduced by 1 for every level of Power Investiture (The Earth Shaper) as per Celestial Magic mechanics, but the recovery roll is unaffected.

  • Rock Wall (P): Innate Attack: Crushing 2 (Area Effect: 4 Yards + Persistent + Wall: Flexible + Extended Duration: x10) + Bastion Essence 6 [28]
    As an Attack Maneuver, you can create a wall 12 yards long, 1 yard wide, and 4 yards tall within 100 feet of you. Each 1 yard section of this wall has 6 DR and a separate HP pool from the other sections. The wall can be in any continuous shape you wish. You cannot create a section of wall that is in the same hex as another object, creature, or person. This wall lasts for 100 seconds, until all sections have been destroyed, or you attempt to use Create Wall again. Earth Vision, Walk through Earth, and Borer (half speed as it is stone) all work on the wall created.
    To aim this wall, you must roll vs Innate Attack to position (with a +4 for targeting a ground hex and a +3 if you take an Aim Maneuver first) with the closest section of the wall determining the Range Penalties of the attack. If you miss, us the Scattering rules on the closest section of the wall. If due to scattering a section of your wall would occupy the same hex as an object, creature, or person, then the section of wall would not be created.
    If a 1 yard section of the wall takes 2 or more Hit Points of damage (piercing and impaling attacks do negligible damage) then the wall must make an HT 12 roll minus the total damage it's taken or collapse. at 6 Hit Points worth of damage, the wall fails without a roll.

  • Essence Disadvantages

    Followers who gain Earth Shaper Essence begin to look more like the denizens of the Earth Shaper's Realm. They have dark brown hair, feathers, and scales. Small rock and gem clusters form on their skin and scales.
    Every 5 points of Earth Shaper Essence gives others a +1 to a Religion roll to identify the celestial you follow. Coreligionists will react to you at +1 per 5 points of Earth Shaper Essence (max +5) and people opposed to your religion will react to you at -1 per 5 points of Earth Shaper Essence (max -5).
    Every 10 ranks of Earth Shaper Essence requires you to take a rank of one of the disadvantages below.

    Dependency (Mineral Salts)
    This can only be take 3 times
    A material that originates from the Earth Shaper's Realm. This Disadvantage comes in 3 ranks:
    • Must be taken once per month
    • Must be taken once per week
    • Must be taken once per day
    Enemies (Civilizors)
    This can only be taken 2 times
    A group of conquerors that cannot stand worshipers of the Primals. This Disadvantage is a group of less powerful people Hunting you and your party. If you kill them, they will be replaced by another from the same organization:
    • Attacks on a 9 or less
    • Attacks on a 12 or less
    Acrophobia
    This can only be taken 3 times
    The fear of heights. You cannot voluntarily go more than 15 feet in the air:
    • Resist on a 12 or less
    • Resist on a 9 or less
    • Resist on a 6 or less
    Odious Personal Habit (Constantly Covered in Dirt)
    This can only be taken 1 time
    Your character is always covered in dirt and mud. This incures a -1 Reaction Modifier from anyone who doesnt follow the Earth Shaper.



    Blessed Items

    These are standard items that you might find for sale in a temple of The Earth Shaper. They are not Enchantable however.

    • The Earth Shaper's Holy Symbol (Small): 25 SP ($250) 0.25
    • A small talisman inscribed with a cracked boulder that increases the Sanctity Level of a person holding it in their hand by 1 to a maximum of Low Sanctity.

    • The Earth Shaper's Holy Symbol (Medium): 1 EP ($1,000)
    • A medium talisman inscribed with a cracked boulder that increases the Sanctity Level of a person holding it in their hand by 1 to a maximum of Normal Sanctity.

    • The Earth Shaper's Holy Symbol (Large): 4 EP ($4,000)
    • A large talisman inscribed with a cracked boulder that increases the Sanctity Level of a person holding it in their hand by 1 to a maximum of High Sanctity.

    • Granite Boots: 75 SP ($750), 5lbs
    • A pair of boots that have DR: 3 and look like they are made of some kind of stone. When both are worn, the wearer gains 4+(2*Power Investiture The Earth Shaper) ST for the purposes of resisting knockback and knockdown. The wearer also cannot float whenever they are wearing the boots, but once they take them off, they can swim as they normally would be able to.

    • Stone Cestus: 5 GP ($500), 3lbs
    • A pair of cestus with stone covering the back of the forearm all the way up to the knuckles. These cesti have an inscription of a cracked boulder on the back of the hands and count as you holding a Basic Holy Symbol for The Earth Shaper.
      This also gives your hands DR 2+your Power Investiture (The Earth Shaper) level. Your punches also deal thr+your Power Investiture (The Earth Shaper) level crushing damage+any Wildcard or Unarmed skill damage bonus. When wearing these, your hands cannot open fully and gives you the -5 point level of Ham-Fisted (-10 point if you already have Ham-Fisted).

    • Sacred Sand: 1 SP ($10), 1lb
    • Sand that has been blessed by a priest of The Earth Shaper. It is extremely soft and always warm. Plants that are sowed in this sand do not need water or nutrients to grow, however they grow at half their normal rate. Some people find it preferable as bedding material (so long as a sheet is separating the person from the sand).

    Legendary Items

    These items cannot be found for sale in normal circumstances. There might even be only one of these in the world and you need to go on a mission to find it.

    • The Earth Shaper's Holy Symbol (Grand):
    • A medium talisman inscribed with a cracked boulder and has a golden lining that increases the Sanctity Level of a person holding it in their hand by 2 to a maximum of Very High Sanctity.
