Godblind Geographic Location in Chimera | World Anvil

Godblind

It's a pity these places are often sought out by criminals and cultists alike, going about their dark business in the sacred spaces between the old god's bones. No one sees into there unless they go themselves, and it takes guts to go into the corpse of an old, dead, god.
Godblinds are the unceremonious graves of the gods. Typically, a godblind is marked by atypical geography or other landmarks: stone arms chained at the wrist jutting from the ground, floating islands, land that grows and rises from the ground, a place covered in unyielding mist, or a tesseract between two separate locations. These landmarks are not inherently good or evil, do not radiate magical energy, and seem to be a natural part of the world. As such, it is difficult for a non-mage to determine if a phenomenon is natural or not (as magic is inherent in nature, we can see how locals can be so easily confused).   What sets a godblind apart, then, is the fact that only mortal kind can enter into a godblind, and all happening inside a godblind cannot be divined by magical means--no scrying, no location magic, etc. Nothing sees into a god, and nothing is seen outside--magically speaking, of course. It is as though the inside of a godblind is a separate world from the outside, and thereby acts as its own pocket dimension.   Mages are deeply affected by these areas, conduits especially. Often, mages will be drawn to a center, where the god's collected soul is--ripe for the foolish to dare to take it for themselves.
