Research on the Possible Link between Elemental Fading and Relationships

Recent empirical stories show there could be a connection between a Level 9 or above Arcanists’ ability to stave off Elemental Fading and their relationship status. A researcher has compiled several decades of data and the correlations are intriguing. The Arcanists have always question why some, but not all, Level 9 and above were able to resist the Elemental Fading, while others were not. The data collected shows the Arcanists who exhibited stable abilities were in long term relationships.
Much of the data is from the era before the Reshaping Wars. Which means that the Arcanists in question were sometimes partnered with other Arcanists, but many were also partnered with Humans. The researcher in question also found examples of Arcanists who turned their back on their race and partnered with the Chimeras. However, due to the sensitive nature of grant funding, the investors of this research were not happy to have this data included. The researcher reluctantly acquiesced to exclude this set of data in order to continue receiving funds.
Due to the curious nature of Arcanists who specialize in research, the researcher in question likely did not throw away the data collected, but rather started a secondary file. Researchers often become obsessed with an idea, and when they are told they are not allowed to research it, they often publicly agree but privately continue as they wish. This was also the case with the philosopher’s stone research which led to the creation of our race. Let us hope that this researcher’s secret files will yield as beneficial a result for our race.
The Elemental Fading is the scourge of our strongest, and should the solution to this be found, the researcher would be hailed as our savior. Once our strongest no longer need to Fade, then we can truly fight back against the Chimeras and the Humans and regain our rightful place at the top of the hierarchy.
