Goblin

The Goblin is a creature that appears in many country's folklore. There are many sub-species, which have their own traits and abilities. The main feature binding them all together is their small stature and their mischievous or malicious nature. All are ugly by human standards, and many hate humans. Many goblins claim alligiance to the "Goblin King", the leader of all goblin kind. Whether this king actually exists, or whether this is the goblins own mythology is anyone's guess.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The humanoid type of goblins are generally less than four feet tall, with long, thin limbs. Faces vary from ugly to grotesque. What hair they have, is stringy, dark, and patchy

Growth Rate & Stages

Goblins are born is sets of two to four in a litter. Due to the high infant mortality rate, and the attrition among the population, few make it to being full grown after 5 years.

Ecology and Habitats

Primarily underground. Goblins have the ability to construct borrows or dwellings underground, but generally choose abandoned human structures.

Dietary Needs and Habits

While most goblins are considered carnivores from mythology, the truth is, they are omnivores. They can subsist on nearly any food, even which is considered inedible to most people.

Biggest population exists in Northern Europe. Some have traveled to the Americas with population migrations. There are even one variety native to China

Goblins have keen night vision. Some are said to be able to see in pitch black darkness, like that of a cave or mine.

Iron age technology. Some goblins forge crude weapons and other metal works. Goblins rarely build though.

Most goblins hate humans, despite relying on them for food, shelter, and wealth. Some endeavor to kill any humans they can get away with, while other live just to steal from and harass the local human population.
