Redcap

The Redcap is a type of Goblin that revels in the kill. And killing humans is considered the greatest thrill of all. They tend to be taller than their kin, and slightly less ugly, with skin tones more towards a fleshy tan. In some circumstances, they could almost be mistaken for a short person, if it wasn't for the oversized nose and ears, and the malicious, toothy grin they seem to not be able to control around humans. Technologically speaking, they are more advanced than their cousins, being able to create tools, weapons, and even armor from scratch, similar to that of the early Middle Ages, though with lower quality craftsmanship.   It is said, Redcaps were named as such because of their penchant for dipping their caps in fresh blood. This is somewhat true. The truth is, they prefer to mix blood, rust, and other materials to make a sort of dye unique to each individual. It is also said that they will die if they fail to dye their hat, or they are killed by having their cap destroyed. This is also somewhat true, but not for any supernatural reason. In reality, a Redcap that fails to kill often enough, or loses their cap to a human, will be considered weak to their tribe, and will be punished by execution. The exact method varies between groups.
