Brooks Patterson

At gatherings Brooks affects a relaxed, casual manner as if he hasn't a care in the world. Jealous Kindred snicker behind his back that of course he doesn't; when you have that much wealth and privilege what could possibly be a problem to you? Brooks only smiles and says that there are worse things out there than the SEC.   Brooks was Embraced in the mid-1980s.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Some Kindred are just born with silver fangs in their mouths. Brooks hails from an old, old family of wealth and privilege that the Ventrue have cultivated for centuries. Every generation or two one of them impresses some Blue Blood enough to attract attention, and that one finds themselves plucked from the family tree at the moment of perfect ripeness.   Unfortunately, Brooks knows all of this all too well. Not one to rest on his laurels, he knows that sharks die if they don't keep swimming. His carefully cultivated act of nonchalance is just that, an act. So he can focus on real problems.

Employment

Brooks Patterson was one of the most talented and innovative tech minds of the 1980s, doing contract work for Microsoft, Apple, eventually Google, the list goes on and on. He currently owns several small tech investment firms and sponsors startups and think tanks around the Midwest.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Brooks is locked in a struggle with Elizabeth Fox, and both they and the rest of Chicago's Ventrue find it likely to only end in one way. One final way.   Both are aware that while merely being Ventrue is a step up the social ladder they are in constant competition for the best spots. Money, feeding rights, other resources, not to mention Clan prestige and even "rulership" of the Chicago financial markets, all of these are prizes each thinks they can win over the other. Coupled with an instant dislike for one another upon first meeting, outright hostility has even turned into actual violence on a few occasions.
