In defeating the mad wizard Faelar, the Realmsplitters released energies that caused the one realm of Chenravo to be split into many.

Upon stopping the mad wizard Faelar, the chronomancy magic he had gathered in order to travel back in time went wild. While normally it would have disapated harmlessly, the massive amount of time based magic reacted poorly with the old magic surrounding the Time Frozen Wastes, where the battle occured. This reaction expanded out across Chenravo, interacting with various energies, and affecting their fluctuations. As these energies were altered, they split the realms. While Chenravo had once been a single physical place, parts strongly saturated with various energies came out of synch and became new planes of existance.   The Celestial Mountain became Celemar.
Abyssal energy condensed into The Hellpits.
Krazentar, an area that was beneath the Obsidian Strip and inhabited by devils, fractured into its own plane.
The plane of chaos became Tressenvoi.
Similarly, forces of law were gathered into Strintor.
Finally, fae energies were gathered into Calcemax.
